Chechnya is a federal subject (a republic) of the Russian Federation with Ramzan Kadyrov as the head of the republic.
Anti-gay purges in the Chechen Republic have included forced disappearances — secret abductions, imprisonment, torture — and
extrajudicial killing by authorities targeting persons based on their
perceived sexual orientation. An unknown number of people, who
authorities detained on suspicion of being gay or bisexual, have
reportedly died after being held in what human rights groups and
eyewitnesses have called concentration camps.
This film centres on the anti-gay purges in Chechnya of the late 2010s,
interviewing various LGBT Chechnyan refugees about their experiences. To
protect the interviewees' safety but stil placing a real human face on
the story, the director used advanced facial replacement techniques from
visual effects technology, so that the viewer could clearly see real
faces displaying real emotions while still protecting the identities of
the speakers.

| It's an amazing movie: prepare to get absolutely mad at Kadyrov and his gang of thugs that rule Chechnya. A big bravo to the Russian LGBTQI activists saving lives against all odds.
