| Fronted by out gay actor Rupert Everett, this documentary from UK's Channel 4 season of the same name examines how much gay life in Britain has changed over the last fifty years since male homosexuality was decriminalised in 1967. He meets LGBT people from all walks of life and explores different venues including cruising areas where gay men would meet for casual sexual encounters (accompanied by a man who was a "pretty policeman" whose job it was, was to entrap gay men). He returns to the first gay bar he ever visited - The Colherne - a haven for those into the leather scene where he meets up with some old-timers and reads from the polari version of the Book of Genesis. (Polari is an old form of slang that gay men used in England. He also meets Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's former royal butler who having divorced his wife, is now about to marry his husband-to-be. Also Jai'Rouge, an out gay rap artist, Steve, a construction worker and visits the town of Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire which has acquired the reputation of being the "lesbian capital of Britain" and which now rivals Brighton as the most gay friendly location in the UK. He concludes outside the Houses of Parliament where at the last General Election ninety of the elected members are now out gay men and lesbians - that's 14% of the total across all of the major political parties. The largest LGBT representation in any elected legislature anywhere in the world. Here OR Here
