17 year old gay boy Miles' plans of leaving small town Illinois for the bright lights of Chicago come crashing down around him when his dad dies and he discovers that he squandered away his college savings. Deciding to take matters into his own hands and take charge of his future, he comes up with a plan to win a volleyball scholarship to a college in Chicago. The only complication with this plan is that his high school only has a girls volleyball team.
An inspiring story of courage and standing up for what you believe in.
It's a sweet sports drama film. With convincing performances from the two leads, it's kinda likable. No groundbreaking script here. The film is actually confused whose story is this? Miles or His Mom? It's actually predictable but it's fine.
The volleyball scenes are not that robust. I was really expecting high-octane v-ball actions but there's nothing.
