Matthew Mishory's biopic/drama has it's focus on James Dean's life in
California in the earliest years of the 1950s, hence: before the big
breakthrough in 1955. Mishory's pic is sexually quite explicite and in
his version of James Dean he was bisexual and more to the homo side.
It's really interesting to compare this movie to another recent film
about Dean, Anton Corbijn's "Life" - in Corbijn's world Dean seems
totally hetero, thinking only of mum and Pier Angeli.

I think this is a very beautiful film in b/w and with great
cinematography. It isn't your standard linear story, but in parts a bit
dreamlike. And James Preston is very much a James Dean-lookalike!
